Built for kids. Trusted by parents.

Every corner of Cove is designed with strict boundaries, respecting your child's data privacy and your family's budget.

Never Phones Home

Your child's voice never leaves the device. Speech recognition and the AI tutor run entirely on the iPad itself — no cloud servers, no audio uploads, no accounts, and zero trackers. We can't leak data we never collect, and that structure is exactly what COPPA asks for.

One Payment, Yours Forever

Three stories are always free, and a 7-day trial opens the whole library. After that, one simple payment of $29.99 unlocks the entire app forever (with Family Sharing). No subscriptions, no recurring charges, no ads.

Works Fully Offline

Once installed, Cove operates without internet access or cellular data. Perfect for car rides, long flights, remote cabins, or quiet areas with weak or absent Wi-Fi connection.

How Cove Teaches Reading

We believe learning to read should be patient and intuitive—built around voice, big simple gestures, and encouraging feedback.

1

Pick a Companion

Your child selects one of our five friendly reading buddies to guide them on their literacy journey.

2

Read Aloud

The passage highlights chunks. Cove's local speech processor listens patiently, tuned specifically for kids' voices.

3

Glide Past Stumbles

Stumble on a word? The buddy highlights it softly and models the phonics. No timers, scores, or failing marks.

4

Spaced Mastery

Tricky words are marked by the system and gently reintroduced in future passages to reinforce memory naturally.

More than reading

The same patient buddy, the same voice-first calm — across more than one way to learn.

📖 Reading

Read aloud with a buddy who listens, helps with tricky words, and celebrates real wins.

🔢 Math Facts

Short spoken number practice — say the answer out loud. Facts return on a spaced schedule, the same proven method we use for tricky words.

👏 Rhythm (early access)

Echo-the-beat clapping games are arriving now — listen to a pattern, clap it back. Pitch and instruments come later.

Choose a Reading Buddy

Every cove needs a crew. Your child picks a friendly guide to read alongside them — each with their own supportive personality and voice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Cove's features, privacy, and purchase structure.

Who is Cove built for?

Cove is built for kids ages 3 to 9 — the years when a child's verbal vocabulary races ahead of their reading skill. The interface is voice-first, so children can navigate, choose stories, and ask for help long before they can read the screen. The visual design is intentionally clean and quiet to maintain deep focus.

Does Cove send my child's voice to a server?

Never. Speech recognition runs entirely on-device using Apple's local speech frameworks and neural engines. No audio recordings, transcripts, or personal metrics ever leave your child's device. We can't leak data we never collect.

Does Cove work offline without Wi-Fi?

Yes. Once installed, Cove works fully offline — no accounts, no logins, no cloud authentication, and no network calls on the child side. It is completely safe and ready to use in the air, on road trips, or at cabins without cell signals.

How does Cove teach reading?

Children pick a tutor character, then read short passages aloud while the tutor listens. When a word is missed or stumbled on, Cove highlights it gently and models the pronunciation. There are no quiz traps, speed timers, or failure states. Difficulty adapts to each child, and tricky words return through spaced repetition.

Is Cove a subscription?

No, Cove is not a subscription. Pricing is a single, one-time payment of $29.99 that unlocks the entire app (with Family Sharing enabled). Parents can download the app for free, enjoy onboarding, and read 3 permanent always-free stories ("The Lion and the Mouse," "The Wind and the Sun," "The Tortoise and the Hare") to test the full tutor loop. A 7-day free trial opens the complete story library before deciding to purchase — and the free stories keep working forever either way.

When is Cove launching?

Cove is in active development for iPad and iPhone. There's no public release date yet — drop a note to [email protected] if you'd like to join our beta program or hear when we ship.

Children's authors — let's make stories together.

Cove's reading library grows best with the people who already write beautifully for kids. If you're a children's author, illustrator, or educator and you'd like your stories read aloud by early readers on Cove, we'd love to partner with you.
